Thank You

I made this Thank you card using Papertrey Ink's Leaf Prints stamp set and matching dies.  I used a Stampin' Up punch for the sentiment and Cricut cartridge Elegant Edges for the background shape.  I used Stampin' Up cardstock for the leaves and acorn.  Oh ya, the acorn was made from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The patterned paper is from.....hhhmmmm, I don't remember.  But most of my patterned paper is either from Stampin' Up or DCWV.  I think it was DCWV.  I inked the edges of the leaves with Tim Holtz distress ink Walnut Stain.  Sure hope you like it, 'cause I do!

Field Flowers.....

That's the name of the stamp set from Stampin Up that I used to make this card.  I also used the square lattice embossing folder and some pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon.  Thanks for visiting my blog and be sure to stop by again real soon!

Back to Blogging.....maybe

Trying to do a better job of blogging.  Hopefully I can post something a couple times a week.  Also, I think I need to figure out how to take better pictures of my cards or anything else I post.  I'm babysitting my beautiful granddaughter again during the day and she is keeping me busy!  My shoulder is all healed up and we are back to using it with no restrictions....yay!  Hhhhmmmm....not much else to say.....have a great day!!

Cinnamon Apple Cake

I made a cake the other day and it lasted for less than 24 hours......it must have been good!!  I found the recipe on Pinterest.  Thought I would share the recipe and a picture of course......it was yummy!

1  3/4 cups sugar, divided
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 tsp. vanilla extract
6 ounces cream cheese, softened (about 3/4 cup)
2 large eggs
1  1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1  1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 cups chopped, peeled apple  (about 2 large)  (I used Macintosh)
Cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350°
Beat 1½ cups sugar, butter, vanilla and cream cheese at medium speed of a mixer until well blended (about 4 minutes).  Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.  Combine flour, baking powder and salt.   Add flour mixture to creamed mixture, beating at low speed until blended.

Combine ¼ cup sugar and cinnamon.  Combine 2 tablespoons of cinnamon mixture and apple in a bowl, then stir apple mixture into batter.  Pour batter into a 9-inch springform pan coated with cooking spray.  Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.

Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake pulls away from the sides of pan.  Cool cake completely on a wire rack and cut using a serrated knife.  Enjoy!

Hello, Hello

This card could be used for almost anything, so I left the inside blank.  The birdcage was cut from Straight from the Nest cricut cartridge along with the bird. The leaves were cut from a Sizzix die.  Sorry I don't remember the name of the die.  It is an A2 size card, but I don't remember what size I cut the images.

Update...

Hoping to do a better job of posting on my blog.  I've been having a few health issues and am working on getting myself better.  I'm actually working on a card today.....which I haven't done in quite some time.  I am feeling much better than I have in a long time.  Still have to have my rotatory cuff surgery....

Heavenly Angel Christmas Card

Here is the only other Christmas card I made for 2011.  The angel is cut from the Christmas Noel cartridge and the snowflake border is cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The snowflake on the bottom right is a ek success punch.  Sorry you can't really see this very well.  The angel was cut from glitter paper.  It is much prettier in real life.

Christmas Card 2011

This is one of the few Christmas cards I made for 2011.  Just haven't had the mojo to do any cards.  I used Winter Frolic Cricut cartridge for the santa.  Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art cartridge for the "Merry Christmas" and Art Philosophy cartridge for the polka dot piece behind the santa.

Happy New Year...

Happy New Year to all my family and friends!!  Hoping it is a happy and healthy year for all of you.  I had an MRI last week on the shoulder that has been giving me trouble.  The results are in....I have a torn rotater cuff.  Grrrr!  Well, at least they found something wrong because I knew I couldn't be in this much pain for nothing.  So....I need to take some pictures and I will be posting a few things that I made for Christmas.
